We had a very busy last 2 weeks of Term 3 with our Cultural Inquiry and Cultural Week.
Here we are tossing gumboots!
We watched the Ilam Kapa Haka groups.
We saw some Korean dancers.
Westburn School kindly lent us their Dragon so we could do our own Dragon Dance.
It was so heavy!
We talked a lot about where our families
are from and where we were born.
We have so many countries and cultures represented in our classroom.
We learned about beavers and made beaver masks. Mrs Lane told us how beavers are the national animal of Canada and that they are to Canada what kiwis are to New Zealand.
We were so lucky to get to watch the hangi be prepared. The hole was right outside our back veranda so we got to watch every single step and smelled different smells throughout the day.
Here it is coming out.
So yummy!
Here are the children from China waiting for the Cultural Day parade to start.
